Depending on how mature your teen is and your own rules regarding parties, you’ll likely come upon an awkward time when your kid is a bit old for going trick-or-treating but probably shouldn’t be attending any high school halloween parties either. Chances are good that your teen is going to want to do something to celebrate Halloween though, so here’s a way you can make sure your teen has a ton of fun with their friends — without drinking or getting into mischief.
Start with Pizza!
The first step to any successful Halloween party with teenagers is excellent food and lots of it. Pizza is almost always a crowd pleaser, especially since grabbing a couple pies can mean a variety of different options that make it simple to meet dietary restrictions. Try to eat before dusk, so that dinner isn’t getting constantly interrupted by the youngest trick-or-treaters.
Plan a Movie.
Whether you choose a halloween classic like The Nightmare Before Christmas, or go with a film sure draw in your teen audience such as the Silence of the Lambs, it’s a good idea to plan a movie for some point during the party. Not only will it help you to kill 1-2 hours, but the party is practically guaranteed to be pretty quiet and chill while the movie is playing. If you’re planning to have guests stay over, perhaps aim to show the movie as the last thing before bed. Don’t forget the popcorn or chips!
Escape a Room.
Suspense, spooky atmosphere, safe. What more could a parent ask for when planning the best Halloween party ever for their teen? Our Escape Rooms accommodate 4-15+ players, and with a minimum of 6 teens, you can make your adventure a private event for your kids only. Choose Dreamweaver for a murder mystery that’s in the perfect Halloween spirit. Or, for a slightly easier escape, pick Bedlam — an asylum for the mad with a missing physician, this challenge is sure to please.
