It can be challenging to keep your teens entertained during the spring break. This is especially true if you’re at work for the week, so your teen is left to their own devices. While we don’t doubt your teen is capable of keeping themselves fed and entertained — Hello KD and video games, it can be nice to encourage them to get off their bums (at least for an hour or two!) during their holiday.
A New Experience.
Something that many teens enjoy are new experiences. In many ways, the teen years are all about trying new things. Learning to ski, going horseback riding for the first time, joining a varsity sports team. Teens aren’t little kids anymore; things like faucets and object permanence and snow don’t amaze them, but they’re still curious kids at heart. New experiences are fun, so why not encourage your teen to recapture some curiosity about the world. Send them to an escape room where they’ll need to puzzle their way out. They’ll get to use their brains and interact with the world differently than they’ve ever done so before.
Unplug and Reconnect.
If you’ve also taken some time off this week, then an escape room may be the perfect place for you and your teen to reconnect. This is because our locked rooms are strictly No Cellphones Allowed. For an entire hour, you’ll need to talk and work together to escape. There’s no snapchat and no work phone calls. Instead, you and your teen will push through adversity and either triumph or fail together against the ticking clock. Either way, we’re sure you’ll have fun.
Great for Friends.
If friends or cousins are in town for spring break, an escape room can be a great activity for the teens. Our rooms at Esxoss Manway can accommodate large groups of more than 15 or small, private escapes for teams of 6. This means there’s a lot of flexibility for how many players you have. Plus, we’re located just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Chinook Station, so teens can take transit to our location. For teens who have lost touch after heading to different high schools, Esxoss Manway offers a convenient meeting place for old friends ready to reconnect.
Spring break is a time for relaxing and meeting up with friends! While you’ll probably want to crack a book or two and do a bit of homework, this week should be about unwinding and decompressing from the stress that comes with school. If you want to take spring break as an opportunity to reconnect with your teen or to provide them with new, novel experiences, contact Esxoss Manway and book your adventure today!
